This is a "Customer Facing" role. With the move to low emissions/GHG, hydrogen, trolley, and Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) in underground and surface mining, the Electrification & NPI Manager Mining will be the key point of contact for both customers, Toromont Team and Caterpillar as part of the new generation mining products introduction program.

This person will deliver high impact presentations to our customers explaining our structured journey from traditional diesel equipment to "Green", low impact machinery, will also co-ordinate internal sales training, customer training, technician training, safety programs, performance validation and machine reliability for key, new mining low GHG emission products. This person will work with our customers, and our marketing team to track industry trends, act as the subject matter expert for Caterpillar low emission/GHG, hybrid, hydrogen, BEV products and attend various industry events to gather knowledge on new trends in broad sense of low GHG mining. Travel to various surface or underground mine sites to evaluate the new Caterpillar low GHG/BEV/NPI fleet performance (mechanical and operation).

Ensure branches with selected New Mining Products will follow the necessary NPI reporting protocol working with Dealer technical communicators. Track top downtime drivers and customer/operator feedback. Gather and analyze Voice of The Customer (VOC).

Assist with production studies or application analysis studies. Assist Application Specialists or Key Account managers with productivity studies, sometimes as head to head competitive studies as it relates to selected new mining products. Assist to script dealer maintenance strategies including technician training programs, high and low voltage safety programs, battery and component rebuild and repair strategies.

Assist to draft safe work procedures for low emission GHG and battery electric vehicles. With the assistance of the mining inventory control team, prepare recommended spare parts list for dealer and customer stocking. Assist the Toromont operator and service trainers to delivery customized, mine specific, training programs with a focus on selected new mining products, hybrid, trolley and BEV.

Help with internal training programs for selected new mining products value proposition and sales strategies including but not limited to energy per cycle tracking and forecasting, Cost per Tonne modelling, competitive data tracking etc. Must-haves for this role:. Post-secondary education requires (Mechanical, Electrical or Mining Engineering degree).

Passion for heavy equipment. Equipment operation and application knowledge. Possible mechanical/electrical/mining engineering or technologist background.

Electrical knowledge or experience with electrical products. Previous service technicians or mining supervisor looking to focus on specialized projects. Machine repair strategies.

Keen eye for mining practices and maintenance practices in a field observation setting Ability to communicate effectively with fact based mining experience. Documentation of observations in a technical capacity including documentation of repairs or application. MS Office suite - software proficiency.
